This course is a unique opportunity to learn more about Yellowknife’s Indigenous culture. You’ll learn to construct and pronounce simple sentences through practical exercises and storytelling.
This course is offered in English and Tłı̨chǫ Yatıı. Duration: 10 weeks for a total of 20 hours. We offer Beginner 1, Beginner 2, and Beginner 3.
From September to December 2021, Tłı̨chǫ learners will have the opportunity to participate in a mentoring program with elders of the Dene community. Activities will be scheduled during this period to allow learners to practice the language and learn more about the Dene culture and traditions.
This program is partly financed by Employment and Social Development Canada.
Here are some videos that show the highlights of the Elders Mentorship Program during the 2019-2020 year.
If the schedule does not meet your needs, you may gather a group of a minimum of 5 people and contact the College. We will work out a schedule that meets your needs. Prices vary depending on the number of participants:
– 5 participants $420 each
– 7 participants $300 each
